John McCain’s 96-year old mom corrects some of his misimpressions.
Here is my podcast on the road ahead. Think of it as “Raiders of the Lost Superdelegates.” Obama might look pretty good in a fedora.
Although he is definitely younger than Harrison Ford, of whom that Shia whatever kid puts it in the new Indiana Jones picture: “For an old guy, you’re pretty good in a fight. What are you, like, 80?”
Here also is a link to my column on my other blog regarding the Republican hopes to take California. With all due respect to the formidable characters involved on that front, don’t wait up.
I also mention the Hillary Clinton statement on why she is not dropping out yet … I’ll leave it to others to discuss the apparent psychosis of the Hillary Clinton campaign — the formerly inevitable presidential frontrunner said today that one reason she shouldn’t drop out in May is that Bobby Kennedy wasn’t assassinated until June!!!! — certainly one of the most bizarre statements ever made by a serious political figure.
There is no way that a person who has made such a bizarre statement can be on the national ticket of a major political party, something the Clintons have obviously been pushing for over the past few days.
I will have more, here and elsewhere, with regard to my assessment of the John McCain campaign from yesterday, and the overall effort of Republicans to frantically re-brand, as it were, their party.
Your posts are welcome in the Forum.

I am so glad McCain finally rejected Rev. John Hagee’s endorsement,
Unfortunately, Hagee has strong ties to several US politicians. Let’s see if Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT), Congressman Elliot Engel (D-NY), Congressman Mike Pence (R-IN) now also follow John MCCain’s lead and disassociate themselves and their staffers from Hagee.
She is protected from the banning from politics that would accrue to a white male by 2 things:
1. She is Mrs. Clinton.
2. She is a woman.

Obviously, John McCain does not agree with these bizarre and extraordinarily evil views. Still, he took a long time to renounce views which make those of Jeremiah Wright look mainstream.

As one who voted for Bobby Kennedy…as one who was watching primary coverage from the Ambassador when he was shot…as one who was deeply impacted by his loss…I will remain silent on Hillary’s statement. I will only take this opportunity to wish each of you a very reflective Memorial Day weekend.
“and the overall effort of Republicans to frantically re-brand, as it were, their party.” I take it this is the practical folks who actually have a role in the party going somewhere, versus the extremists and gasbags (Limbaugh, Norquist and Dobson) who whine the parties’ woes can only be cured by being even more extreme-right.
Both parties need to get serious and realize how we have been living in a fools paradise. Even our statistics lie!

Exactly.
Well, as I review Hillary’s comments to the South Dakota newspaper editorial board today, I see that, not only did she make this evil comment, she also, in the same sentence, made a wildly distorted comment about the 1992 presidential race!
Which I will have to get into in another column on this Memorial Day weekend.
Which of course has nothing to do with her and her famously, ah, service-avoiding husband …

Mr. Bradley,
Enjoy your weekend. Hope you find time for yourself, your friends, family and the deep feelings you have towards this country and those who have given their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom.
Will do, and likewise …
Ann,
Thanks!
Haha.
You win…
Perhaps.
This round!
Liked your piece on McCain’s chances of taking California. Not a chance in hell, of course. They trot that nonsense out every four years and never spend a dime here. I read recently that the current White House resident hasn’t even visited San Francisco. Ever.
They usually just show up here for the cash-grab cocktail parties and high-tail it elsewhere to spend the dough. Sort of like the federal government: it takes our federal tax dollars and spends them on Homeland Security in places like Idaho.
Fact is, the republicans don’t need our state to carve out a slight majority. They just continue to pay lip service to the idea.
Nice interview with McCain and his sister…er, mom.
Very nice!
Bush actually did spend a lot of money here. And lost badly.
